Merchant shipbuilding program is an important part of Baltiysky Zavod’s production strategy. Throughout its history, the shipyard has built almost each and every type of cargo ships, both dry-cargo and tankers.
Chemical Tanker
The project 95132 vessel is intended for carrying of chemical goods (IMO type 2) with a maximum density 2,00/2,20 t/m3. The main distinctive feature of this project is the inner hull entirely made of high molybdenum stainless steel (at least 2.5% Mo).
The tanker has 20 cargo tanks of different capacity. Each tank is equipped with a 100 m3/hour hydraulic pump, which allows to load /unload all tanks simultaneously, excluding the carriage of incompatible chemicals in adjacent tanks. Tank capacities from 108 до 551 m3 allow for cargo loads of different volume.
Bulkcarrier
The project 93104 vessel is a versatile bulk carrier for a wide range of cargoes – from grain to ore and coal. 370 20-ft. containers can be placed on top of the cargo hatches.
Cargo handling is performed by four 25/32-ton cranes. The main engine – a 10,400 kW low speed diesel by Sulzer –ensures the speed of 15 kn at 113 rpm.
Ocean Ro-Ro vessels (RoPax Type)
Baltiysky Zavod undertakes the construction of seagoing RoRo ships meant for transportation of trailers (RoPax type). The RoPax vessel is intended for transportation of passengers and trucks on short international routes, particularly in the Northern Europe. RoRo carrier is a tendeck PassengerCar ferry. Three cargo decks equipped with hoistable ramps are meant for transportation of trucks. The vessel can accommodate about two hundred midsize trucks. Lloyd's Register (Great Britain) is supervising construction of ships at BZ.
