On December 19th 2003 a solemn ceremony dedicated to delivery of a King of Bells to The Svyato-Troitskaya Sergieva Lavra (Monastery) took place at Baltiysky Zavod premises. A new bell is the largest one among active bells produced in Russia. Parameters of the bell are as follows: weight - 72 tons, height - 4550 mm, diameter - 4421 mm. The bell was cast on 10th of September. King of Bells bears the following inscription in Old Slavonic language: "This Bell was cast in Saint-Petersburg at Baltiysky Zavod. Sounding was chosen by archimandrite Matthew, the first regent of the Monastery, and the oldest bell-ringer Father Micah. Acoustic calculation was made by Boris Nunin. The Chief Caster was Victor Ivanov and Project Manager - Victor Dmitriev".

The bell was cast with the help of nine furnaces	A wooden model of the bell made it possible to make a special mould for casting
Mould height is about 8 meters. Metal had been cooling down within 3 weeks	King of Bells appeared from the mould
Cleaning of the internal surface of the bell	Father Micah, the best bell-ringer in Russia, was the first who made an appraisal of a new bell
The first tolling of bells	King of Bells passed trials successfully
