Baltiysky Zavod, JSC production capacities and most modern equipment allows the shipyard to build and deliver turn-key ships and vessels. The shipyard’s in-house steel manufacturing and engineering capacities make it possible to produce parts and components for the vessels built at the shipyard, which significantly reduces construction costs.
The shipbuilding facilities include three construction sites: two open-air slipways and one enclosed slipway. Slipway A - 350 m long - is the longest one in Russia allowing the shipyard to build and launch vessels up to 100,000 dwt. The enclosed slipway features most modern shipbuilding equipment.
The shipyard outfitting berth is 900 m long, the depth at the berth is 10 m. It is equipped with three 50-ton portal cranes. Superstructure blocks are handled by the 350-ton Demag floating crane with hoisting height up to 50 m.
In 2003-2004, the shipyard launched a new steel cutting shop. Investments into the new facility amounted to $30 million. The shop is capable of processing up to 60,000 ton of steel per year. The shop is equipped with modern automatic steel processing and cutting machines. The new facility introduced European production standards at the shipyard increasing efficiency and cutting construction periods.
Engineering production shops of Baltiysky Zavod, JSC manufacture a wide range of products, including propellers, shafts, bearings, steering gear parts, deck and bilge machinery, valves and pipelines. Baltiysky Zavod, JSC also specializes in production of marine and ground-based power engineering equipment: steam generators, heat exchangers, exhaust and hot-water boilers, etc. The shipyard’s foundry produces steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous castings, as well as church bells of any size.
The quality of Baltiysky Zavod, JSC products is certified by a number of the world’s leading classification societies. In 2003 the company was approved according to the international ISO 9001-2000 standard.
All-year navigation in the area ensures free access to the shipyard quays and a way out to the Baltic Sea. A customs terminal of the North-West Customs Administration of Russia is located on the territory of Baltiysky Zavod, JSC, which significantly expedites customs clearing procedures when delivering imported equipment.
