| Hull Fabrication and Welding Facilities |
Ship hull sections are fabricated in the assembly workshop. The crane equipment in the shop allows to manufacture sections up to 80 tons. The shop has 4 bays: In Bay No.0 there is a site for fabrication of volume sections featuring two bridge cranes with lifting capacity 50 and 80 tons.
Bay No.1 is a site for fabrication of framing, 2-D and volume sections. The bay is equipped with six bridge cranes with lifting capacity from 5 to 75 tons, as well as a press for straightening frames.
A site for assembly and welding of webbing, fabrication of foundations, bottom sections and fore and aft body volume sections is located in Bay No.2. The bay has six bridge cranes with lifting capacity from 10 to 75 tons, benches for assembly and automatic welding of webbing, assembly line for welding of bottom and side sections, as well as straightening rollers for webbing.
Bay No.3 represents the facilities for assembly of volume bottom and side sections. The bay has five cranes with capacity from 5 to 50 tons and a sections assembly line.
The shop’s welding equipment includes automatic submerged arc welding machines and CO2-shielded welding machines (for welding angles), as well as machines for semi-automatic CO2-shielded welding and argon-arc welding supplied by the world’s leading welding equipment manufacturers KEMPI, ESAB etc.
