| Steel Cutting Facilities |
Rolled steel plates are processed and cut at the steel cutting shop launched in 2001-2003. The shop is one of the most modern steel cutting facilities in Europe capable of processing up to 60,000 ton of steel per year. The facility features a large enclosed steel yard and most modern steel production equipment produced by Gutmann, Famak, IMG, Messer. All the equipment, including the steel transportation system, is fully automatic.
The plates are transported from the steel yard to the Gutmann blasting and priming line by the transportation system consisting of roller conveyers and feed chain transporters. The steel is then blasted to Sa 2.5 class in compliance with ISO 8501-1. Priming is done with zinc-silicate shop primers supplied by such leading companies as JOTUN, International Paint, Hempel.
Blasted and primed steel is then delivered to the cutting sector featuring two Messer cutting machines for subsequent dry or underwater plasma cutting.
Profiled steel is cut and marked at the IMG profile cutting line, which also cuts scuppers and holes in profiles, performs edge preparation for profile parts, and applies inverse (rectifiable) curve markings for subsequent template-free bending.
Steel plates, profiles, and parts in this area are handled by bridge and semi-gantry cranes that are capable of turning 12.5-ton plates by 180 degrees.
Length of the automated transportation system is 270 m. Number of cranes: 10 units. Rolled steel processing speed at the Gutmann line is 4 m/min. IMG profile cutting line capacity is 6,000 tons of steel profile per year. Thickness of steel processed by Меsser cutting machines is 4-35 mm.
